Still from The Office Party

Deliveroo

The Office Party.

Deliveroo now delivered groceries and retail. Everyone still thought it was just for dinner.

my role.

the problem.

Deliveroo had expanded into groceries, retail and gifts, but almost all its orders still came from restaurant food. The new categories weren’t bringing in the sales they were meant to. Deliveroo needed people to know what else the app offered, and a reason to order it that fit its positioning of “making moments better.”

what we found.

During the day, office employees placed more food orders than any other group, but they almost never ordered anything beyond lunch. They already trusted Deliveroo and used it daily, which made them the most valuable audience to go after.

So we built the strategy around office employees: get the people already ordering lunch at work to use Deliveroo for the rest of the range.

the idea.

Since employees don’t usually order groceries or gifts at work, we looked for the one moment Deliveroo could make better with snacks, decorations, flowers and presents all at once: the office party. So we created a film about an overlooked employee who uses Deliveroo’s full range to turn a dull office party around, and becomes the hero of it.

the film.

At a painfully dull retro office party, Ahmad goes from fool to cool with Deliveroo’s new range. In his fantasy, each delivery transforms the party and his status with it, until reality snaps back.

the socials.
